1 Scope
1.1 This Outline covers requirements for evaluating the mechanical security features of door security latch assemblies intended to be mounted on the inside of the protected area. Security latches covered by this outline do not have any exposed parts on the exterior side of the door.
1.2 A security latch shall provide a degree of protection against:
a) Static strength rating of 1500 pounds-force (6673 N). See 9.2.1.
b) Dynamic strength rating of 70 foot-pounds-force (95 J). See 9.3.1.
