1.1 These requirements cover the following elevator appliances intended for installation and operation on horizontal and vertically opening hoistway doors and gates and car doors and gates in accordance with the requirements of the Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, ASME A17.1:

1. a) Hoistway-Door Interlocks (ASME A17.1/CSA B44, Clause 2.12.2),

2. b) Hoistway-Door Electric Contacts

3. c) Hoistway-Door Combination Mechanical Lock and Electric Contacts (ASME A17.1/CSA B44, Clause 2.12.3);

4. d) Hoistway Gate Electric Contacts (ASME A17.1/CSA B44, Clause 2.12.2.4.4(c)(2));

5. e) Car Door Interlocks (ASME A17.1, Clause 2.14.4.2.2);

6. f) Car Door Electric Contacts (ASME A17.1/CSA B44, Clause 2.14.4.2.3); and

7. g) Car Gate Electric Contacts (ASMEA17.1/CSA B44, Clause 2.14.4.2.3).

1.2 These requirements are intended to supplement and be used in conjunction with the Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, ASME A17.1.

1.3 These requirements do not cover elevator appliances rated more than 600 volts.
