This Standard specifies the terms for the rotary shaft lip-type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements (hereafter referred to as "rotary shaft lip-type seal").
The terms are classified into five categories: terms for types of rotary shaft lip-type seals, terms for parts/portions/tolerances and fits of rotary shaft lip-type seals, terms for visual imperfections, terms for storage, handling and installation, and terms for performance test procedure.
