This Standard specifies the dimensions of pressure caps and filler necks for automobile radiators.

NOTE 1 The dimensions of intermediate type and large type pressure caps and filler necks, which are not included in ISO 9817 : 1991, are specified in Annex JA.

NOTE 2 The dimensions of small type flattened pressure caps and filler necks, which are not included in ISO 9817 : 1991, are specified in Annex JB.

NOTE 3 This Standard specifies the characteristics of pressure caps, but since its characteristics requirements are only for showing the recommended design values, it is not intended, by itself, to be used for assessing the conformity of pressure caps.

NOTE 4 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between JIS and the corresponding International Standard are IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21.
