This is the consolidated Version of EN 12385-4:2002 and includes the amendment A1:2008 to the standard. This Part of this European Standard specifies the requirements for stranded ropes for general lifting applications. It should be read in conjunction with Part 1 of this standard. Minimum breaking force values for the more common classes, sizes and grades of rope are provided in tables 4 to 16. Annex A gives the method of calculation of minimum breaking force for the more common classes and grades of rope.
