Subject of the guideline is a simplified method for the evaluation of odorous emissions from animal housing systems by means of a distance control. The guideline does not only aim at farmers as operators of animal husbandry, but also at experts, authorities and other professionals in the field of animal husbandry. The guideline allows evaluation of odours and their frequency of occurrence in the field of animal husbandry by simple means and without extensive simulation. It is also used for assessment of animal husbandry.
