Standard EN SampleFlat products made of steels for pressure purposes. Non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties
Also Known As:
What is this standard about?
This standard is about how flat steel sheet and plate should be produced for the construction of safe pressure equipment. This part specifies requirements for flat products for pressure equipment made of weldable non-alloy and alloy steels with elevated temperature properties as specified in Table 1. The requirements and definitions of BS EN 10028-1:2017 also apply.
Who is this standard for?
- Design engineers
- Importers/steel stockists
- Purchasing staff
- Quality engineers
- Quality managers
Why should you use this standard?
It supports essential requirements of EU Directive 2014/68/EU for pressure equipment (PED) – see Note below.
What’s changed since the last update?
The main changes since the 2009 version are:
- Normative references revised
- Option to agree thicknesses greater than those stated in the standard and the corresponding footnotes in Tables 3 and 4 deleted
- BS EN 1011-1 and BS EN 1011-2 moved from bibliography into normative references
- Marking of text passages with one or two dots has been generally deleted
- Cross references in the standard generally updated
- Example for ordering revised
- Steel grade 16Mo3 included in sub clause 8.2.2 concerning normalized forming
- Note in sub-clause 8.4.1 concerning mechanical properties deleted
- Values in Table B.1, Annex B have been revised
- Correlation in Annex ZA between the clause of this European standard and the essential requirements of the Directive 2014/68/EU updated
- Editorial changes
NOTE: Once this European Standard is published in the EU Official Journal (OJEU) under Directive 2014/68/EU, presumption of conformity to the Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) of Directive 2014/68/EU is limited to technical data of materials in this European Standard (Part 1 and the other relevant part of the series) and does not presume adequacy of the material to a specific item of equipment. Consequently, the technical data stated in this material standard must be assessed against the design requirements of this specific item of equipment to verify that the Essential Safety Requirements of Directive 2014/68/14 are satisfied.
