This specification defines the requirements for the design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and documentation of ball, check, gate, and plug valves for application in pipeline and piping systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries.
This specification is not applicable to sub sea pipeline valves, as they are covered by a separate specification, API 6DSS.</p><p>This specification is not applicable to valves for pressure ratings exceeding Class 2500.</p><p>If product is supplied bearing the API Monogram and manufactured at a facility licensed by API, the requirements of Annex A applies.
Annexes B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, and O are annexes that are used in order listed.
